Kids in Action...
...is an interactive and intercultural Fotoproject. It started in January 2009 as a foto-workshop with kids in Ecuador and evolved into a growing, travelling exhibition. At the moment it includes about 100 Pictures that have been taken by children from Poland, USA, Germany and Ecuador.
Kids in Action is also part of an intercultural exchange in between children. At the moment there are 2 schools in Germany and 1 school in Ecuador realizing several activities for communication and networking. Step by step through practical experience the kids and teachers enter the field of Intercultural Learning and start to develop little projects themselves.
At Piccolo Spazio Intercultulturale the kids from germany and ecuador give an insight into their world.
Team Flaschenpost
Who we are:
This project has been developed by an intercultural group of people with experiences and skills in different fields. We have the common goal to create concrete connections between different cultures, in which the language is not a barrier, instead is a motivation for creativity and observation. We come from different parts of the world, but we share the same issues. So, why don't we learn from each other?
Team Flaschenpost stands for personal relationships that evolve into global Workinggroups.
My world Ecuador through the eyes of a child.
¡La exposición única!
The presented photographs were taken during March May 2009 by the child inhabitants of Chunchi, the Andean town in Ecuador. In those months, which is shown in some pictures, Chunchi is covered with a dense fog. Only in the early morning you can see the beautiful peaks of the surrounding mountains. In winter the temperatures never go below zero.
I arrived in Chunchi within the framework of the Hijos dellos migrantes programme, whose main goal is to work with immigrant children. One of the many social issues confronting Ecuador are children abandoned by parents immigrating to the United States and Spain. I helped children with their homework and arranged their leisure activities. One of my ideas was to organize a photography workshop.
We managed to provide to the children, for a couple of days, three cameras. I encouraged them to take photos of their relatives and their surroundings to tell a story through the photos about their everyday life and important matters.
After presenting first photos we had several meetings to discuss them and to generate new ideas. I tried to inspire the children to further work by asking them to photograph both happy and sad moments. The children had many great and original ideas. They wanted to grasp the moments running around their surroundings they took photos of their aunts, friends, breaks at school, their houses and beautiful nature that surrounds them: mountains and animals.
Chunchi is situated in the Andes at an altitude of 2360 meters above sea level. The name of town comes from the language of the indigenous Indians, Quichua, and means "red sunset".
You are welcome! VAMOS
